Unexpected stop turns into good food to go.

This was a really nice Gainesville Florida experience. The Widowmaker was delicious as hell!!! Service was super kind and friendly! Will definitely make it a must go when visiting Gainesville.

Great, tasty burgers! I love their kimchi burgers and sweet potato fries. Elder Fashion is a must try simple cocktail if you like bourbon and cherry.

We did pick up last night. Not impressed. Our food was cold, soggy and very greasy when I picked it up. They told me an hour wait time, so I waited. If I would’ve known my food was apparently going to be done much faster they could’ve contacted me. The hostess was not polite. No napkins, utensils or anything extra in the bag, I had to ask for it and it felt like I was putting her out. Then to top it all off the seared tuna makes my husband sick all night long. First time, last time, and not worth the money.

One our favorite go to restaurants. Great selection of specials and everyday dishes. Best meatloaf you'll ever put in your mouth. If they could only do something about the wait. Oh well, in the end it's worth it.

I read the 1 star reviews that attack the servers' less than pleasant dispositions. I will say, that is a big draw for me. I like my servers mean. They barely get paid a living wage what do I care if my burger is served with a smile? Food is good btw

Be prepared to wait - although it is absolutely worth it! I haven't visited The Top and not had to wait 15+ minutes for a table. I keep going back though! With good company the wait is fine. Burgers are the best choice on the menu - be sure to try the nutritional yeast dipping sauce! Vegan options available (incl. vegan cake)

My Dad has high standards for his dining experiences, and he's in love with the Top. It's a must visit whenever he's in town. The pecan crusted trout is his fav. I love the tofu triangles, the fries, and the vegan options are extensive. It's also cool, because it's segmented into four distinct dining areas: the main room, the bar, the front patio, and the back patio. You can order food at any of them. Just a unique experience everyone should try.

I am absolutely in love with this place. From the vintage furniture and mid-century decor to the food and drinks. The vegan and vegetarian options are all absolutely delicious and so are the meat options. I didn't have one thing here that wasn't tasty. It's a long wait, but it is definitely worth it. I would totally franchise this place if the chef could train others to make such consistently delicious vegan/vegetarian food. I am beyond impressed and hope to come back on my next visit to Gainesville.

Stopped for a late dinner with friends. This place was hopping on a Tuesday night, which drew us in. It's a fun and kitschy retro vibe, with an interesting menu and great drinks. We got classic margaritas on the Tuesday drink special (A+), and I had a great rice bowl with shrimp and pork belly. Service was prompt and friendly.

Excellent. Some of the best green beans I have had at a restaurant. The San Diego chicken was great and my daughter loved her falafel burger. We took home deserts and they were great also. Overall great dinner!!

Place is decent but not by any means mind blowing or anything. Services was good and food was average to above average. Seems to specialize in the vegan/vegetarian food (vegan cheese/ black bean and beyond burgers) which would have been nice to know before hand. Also had an all gender bathroom if that kind of thing is important to you. Places seems to suffer from over hype 😂 but still not a bad place to eat. They check your temperature at the door and take mask wearing seriously. Finally tip is built into the price on your bill.

I can't believe it's taken me and my wife Victoria a whole year to finally try this place...It is sooo worth it.They have a lovely outdoor seating area with plants, which is where we sat.We were blessed to have a very sweet and caring server.The corn nugget appetizer was delicious, as were both the vegan dishes we ordered. (Mine had large mushrooms, which are my favorite)Overall, The Top, is definitely a place I would bring my friends and family to, to have a tasty and enjoyable dinner.👍🙏😌

Amazing atmosphere, and for a Downtowm place it was definitely not as packed as I expected. My friends and myself enjoyed our food, but the beer selection was terrific. Not the quantity of the beer but quality, delicious stuff! The service was great as well

The best part about this place besides the food is that they leave you be and not rush you with the check that for us is the best thank you !!! Very European!!! Good for you

This probably has some of the most jnteresting burgers I've seen in Gainesville. We made a takeout order and tried their famous corn nuggets, Mastadon burger, and Maradona burger. Meat was cooked perfectly and the buns were large and thick enough that it didn't get too soggy or fall apart. I loved the chimichurri on the Maradona. The corn nuggets weren't particularly impressive and the garlic aioli isn't my fave. They originally accidentally gave our order to someone else but they made our order again with no fuss. I appreciate that kind of professionalism.Edit: Got their Garlic&Goat and Burning Love as a friend recommended. Both were good but not amazing. I never would have thought to put peanut butter on a burger, but the amount that was slathered on was way too much and I had to scoop a good half of it off. Otherwise, the patty was cooked up perfection. It would be interesting to see if they make a burger patty filled with melted cheese since they like to be creative.

The Top has long been one of my favorite places to eat in Gainesville..The atmosphere is super eclectic and has a really fun vintage feel.. Food is amazing and service is fast.

Wonderful food and staff! Enjoyed the vegetarian options here. One of my friends got the chicken and biscuit plate which was huge and tasted great; I was very jealous. This is also a beautiful place, that has something for everyone! With it being in a great location, this is a place hard to pass up.

Loved this place when I lived in Florida, made sure to make it there on a recent trip. Fantastic food, excellent service as always.

I've been here 3 times now and the best I can say is "meh". Food is overpriced, meh quality, though the portion sizes are hugenormous. Def stick to finger foods, the rest of the menu is... lacking in flavor or consistency or both... I have yet to be impressed by anything off of their menu. Interesting place to grab a couple drinks and a unique atmosphere for dates though. Their cocktail menu is limited, and nothing to write home about (I've tried nearly all of them...) but they have a full bar, the staff us always amazing, and the atmosphere is great for groups. THEIR PANDEMIC HOURS HAVE CHANGED and they close at 10 now!

I LOVE this place. Depending on the dish you get, it can be a little pricey, but I wouldn’t let that stop you from coming here. It definitely gets busy on weekends, so be prepared for a decent wait during dinner times. The corn nuggets are delicious, as is their pesto gnocchi and grilled salmon. The servers are always attentive and the atmosphere is lively, plus it’s nice to have special menus or deals on different days.

The food and service was great. The had a great variety on the menu to select from. The TOP is popular so expect to have a wait. We tried a variety of appetizers and main dishes for an upcoming event for them to cater.

Great local restaurant with up beat atmosphere, great menu selection and reasonably price. The goat cheese app was awesome as was our meals. The desserts we're homemade and outstanding. Our waiter Larry was on top of things and made the entire dinning experience even better.

Top is quintessential Gainesville. Tables fill up quickly at peak times so come ready to enjoy a well-made cocktail or a beer from a large and tasteful selection at the bar while waiting for your table. Everyone has a favorite menu item and will accommodate most dietary needs. Don't hesitate to ask for recommendations.

Always a long wait but usually worth it. They need to better vet their waiters for quality of service
